A repurposed, dollar store hummingbird feeder works well for the hatchlings. This can be hung up so that they don't walk or poop in it, nor scratch a lot of shavings into it. Very little spillage. Just dip one chick's beak into the water, the rest will soon copy. Water stays cleaner. Clean and refill as needed.
